Outkast first appeared in 94 with their first album "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik". After they first album, Dre and Big Boi became very successful.

Dre (Andre Benjamin) was born May 27, 1975 in Georgia and Big Boi (Antoine Patton) was born February 1, 1975 in Savannah, Georgia.

Both this guys started to rap at a young age. Eventually they got together in East Point and started to run through the streets and Tri-city high school. After a couple of years, they were being listened by L.A. and Babyface and signed a contract with Laface. When they release "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik" it immediately went on the Billboard rap chart for almost 2 month. They single "Player's Ball", which it was produced by TLC was one of the major start for them. They gave the south a chance for other rappers to come out. Outkast even got together with Goodie Mob and made tracks. After a couple years pass, they all got in and formed a group called "Da Dugeon Family.

In 1996, they released their second album "ATLiens" did very well. It even broke the U.S. top 20. Their number one hit single "Elevators (Me & You)" was playing everywhere and took place at number 2 in the billboard rap chart.

In 1998, Outkast released their third album "Aquemin". They had guests like Goodie Mob, Organize Noise, Da Dungeon Family, and George Clinton. This album became very famous just like the other two. Everybody was liking Funkadelic and south beats.

In 98 others try to compete with them (No Limit, Triple Six Mafia, and others) but everyone failed. When people said "southern gangster rap" everyone think of Outkast.

In february, 2001 they released their fourth album "Stankonia". Stankonia a rock & roll/rap type was going on, usually they use Funkadelic and beats. Stankonia had more guests than any album they produced and very different beats than the other albums. They both working on a album, but this time they each went on they own to make their different albums. This album will be released at the end of this year.
